Lenten Exhibit: Kuwaresma sa Lawa

Also featured in the exhibit is a mural by Nemiranda, portraying the joyful Salubong in Angono. Here, the Kapitana and Tenyenta greet the Virgin Mary. The Kapitana recites the dicho or poem of praise, and both Kapitana and Tenyenta dance the Bati accompanied by the Angono National Symphonic Band. The gowns or “saya” and “bandera” of past Kapitanas and Tenyentas are on display.
